How to start 2020 off right: Tips from a Health Coach

2020 sounds like a monumental year, doesn’t it!?
Start it off right with a few simple tips from a health coach
Start with Detox: Mornings are a perfect opportunity to capitalize on the detoxing, repairing, and healing your body works so hard on the night before. Especially if you indulge on New Year’s Eve, before you break-fast, boost your detox efforts by adding a squeeze of 1/2 a lemon or lime to 16 ounces of warm water. Drink it upon rising on an empty stomach, and then wait 15-30 minutes before having breakfast. Do it daily for maximized benefits.
Sit in Stillness: 5 minutes is all it takes. Sit comfortably, on the floor or in a chair, in a quiet place preferably. Keep your spine straight by sitting up tall and close your eyes. Inhale deeply and as you exhale, relax all the muscles in your body. Focus on sitting up tall with your inhales, and letting go of tension as you exhale. Next just notice how it feels to be still, out of stress mode. Then, welcome in some gratitude for a new year! 2020! Be open to new opportunities and all the joy to come. A positive mindset is the key to starting anew.
Find a motto or mantra: There are so many inspirational quotes online that can help us stick with positivity as we embark on a new year. A simple Google search of “new years mantras” or “inspirational new years quotes” can be a fun activity to do while snuggled up under a blanket with a cup of coffee or tea. Being intentional about our mindset matters! Once you find a good one, write in your planner, doodle or create some art around it, or just put it on a stickie note on your mirror. Change in up every month, week, day etc. for a dose of motivation as you move toward your best year yet.
